Our Psalms Coloring Pages accompany our popular Psalms Coloring Posters and include nine unique coloring pages. The illustrations are based on the Psalm texts from the Revised Common Lectionary (Year B). Each illustration highlights specific themes and emotions from that Psalm, and the texts from the Psalms are also incorporated into the drawing.

What's included?

Upon completion of your purchase, you will receive a downloadable PDF of the coloring pages that you can print out. The PDF will include:

  • Detailed Coloring Pages: We include the same detailed illustrations featured on our Psalms Coloring Posters.
  • Simplified Coloring Pages: We also include a simplified design for those who prefer fewer details to color.

To get the most out of these Psalms Coloring Pages, we encourage you to also pick up the Psalms Devotional Guide.

Why Focus on the Psalms?

The Psalms are a great source of theological creativity, depth, and wonder. Reading the Psalms teaches us that emotions are good and that we shouldn't try to hide them from God. Reading the Psalms gives us words to express our feelings and helps us see the authors of the Psalms struggle with many of the same things we struggle with.

Another great reason to purchase our Psalms Coloring Pages is that they can be used anytime and are not uniquely tied to Lent. While the Psalms come from the RCL texts for Lent (Year B), they can (and should!) be studied throughout the year, so it isn't a problem if you don't finish all the coloring pages. Use a few during Lent, save one for a youth group retreat, and use another for a women's Bible study—they're great for many occasions.

Almost matching
I'm Catholic and I've checked the psalms readings for each of the coloring page. It appears that the order of the readings are different for some weeks but that's not a big deal as I can just choose the page that corresponds to our psalms reading that week. However, we've got Ps 137:1-6 for the 4th Sunday, which you don't have. Otherwise, the illustrations are beautiful and meaningful.

Thanks for your review Mee! Yes, we used the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) for the Psalms for Lent, and the version of the RCL that Catholic churches use is slightly different, with availability of alternate Psalms, so if there is any difference, it would be because of that. i hope you enjoy the coloring pages!
