When moving away from a “God is male” understanding of the divine, it’s easy to say “God is beyond gender.” In a way, this is true. However, by only using this language, we lose a bit of that God-with-us-ness. To say “God is genderfull” is to say God embodies the entire spectrum of gender and gender identity.
