Special Sunday Resources: Transfiguration

This Special Sunday Resource is for Transfiguration Sunday and focuses on how this ancient story weaves together with our current reality. Rooted in the Synoptic Gospel accounts of Jesus’ transfiguration and 2 Corinthians 3:12–4:2, this resource will explore:

Clarity in the midst of disorientation: As Jesus is transfigured, the disciples struggle to stay awake. In an overwhelming world, how do we sort through the cluttered noise to discover God’s affirmation and our divine invitation?

Courage to live authentically: Jesus’ transfiguration echoes the courage of all who step fully into themselves. What does it mean for us to embrace our most radiant, God-given selves?

Resistance to empire and injustice: Jesus is feared by the powers that be because he proclaims the good news of liberation. How do we follow Jesus beyond the mountaintop and into justice?
